Item Lore []
Lost King's Die Set
Rumor has it that a long time ago there was a Pirate King who ruled these parts unparalleled. He was vicious and would kill anyone who dared to defy or even question him. For many years he ruled with no competition. He was the chief, the leader of all other pirates. In his old age however he began to lose his mind...
Near his last few years he became obsessed with a set of dice. No one knows where he obtained them but each day he would sit in the corner of his ship or at his tent whispering "Skull. Ship. Chalice. Sword. Spyglass", over and over again. These were symbols etched onto the die and he was convinced that they meant something, that they were the key to unlocking something of great value.
Of course these were the ravings of a mad man losing his mind. Who knows where he got the idea. At any rate, if you come across these dice, they would make a great addition to my collection.
Captain Cutler's Chalice
The Chalice I'm looking for is unmistakable. Its gold shine will inevitably give it away. It previously belonged to a pirate named Captain Cutler. Against all odds Captain Cutler was known as one of the less ruthless Captains around these parts. Often after his crew would find treasure and coin, he would set aside a certain percentage and return it to the poor people of the land. Because of this he grew in popularity and even non-pirates generally liked him.
One day he was visiting a village to give away some of the coin he had collected and the village leader met with him, giving him a gift as his way of saying thanks. The gift was the golden chalice.
According to my records Captain Cutler passed away years ago but no one has found the chalice. I would love to have it as part of my collection so if you come across it, please bring it to me.
Coin of Old
Most people around these parts think of coins as a type of currency, something valuable. The more you get, the more you can have. In my studies however I have found that there is one type of coin not used for currency, but rather as a key for highly valuable and protected items. As such, a coin like this would fit quite nicely in my collection. Unfortunately, rumor has it there were very few of these coins ever made and it was a long time ago when there were, so you might have trouble finding them. If you do manage to find one, bring it to me for trade.
Ancient Manuscripts
Indecipherable to the untrained eye, but to a collector like me... well... not quite. These manuscripts from the ancient days hold all kinds of valuable information about the ancients' way of life, their customs, their wars, and their secrets. Surprisingly, some of these manuscripts have survived and can still be found throughout the world today. If you find any of these manuscripts in your travels, bring them to me and I will trade you something valuable for them.
Ancient Coins
I will admit, I don't know much about these, only that they are rare and as such, valuable to me. I don't claim to be an expert on all of these things, just a collector. Nevertheless, should you find some ancient coins, bring them to me and we'll see if we can come to an agreement on something to trade.
Pirate Tokens
Some pirate have adopted their own currency that they trade only among each other. These are referred to as Pirate Tokens. Usually this currency is reserved for higher ranking pirates and as such won't be as easy to find as gold. I would check some of their more ornate treasure chests.
In Search Of A Scimitar[]
If the player has the Treasure Hunter's Diary on them, purchased from a Merchant (Needs confirmation), the Sea Collector can give them hints as to where to go, and start the quest In Search Of A Scimitar.
Treasure Hunter's Diary
Ah yes! I see you have read the diary of the treasure hunter, Balan. If I were you, I'd get started looking for those items. It looks like the ancient burial cloth can be found in ancient chests. Those are usually surrounded by tall stone pillars. As for the embalming agent, try a gravesite. Surely you know how to find a gravesite, yes? Look for a tombstone!
